RESEARCHING CHEMOTHERAPY PROTOCOLS FOR GBM

I am researching chemotherapy options for a grade IV Glioblastoma. I'm currently on VP16 with Thalidomide but have my doubts (uncertainty is the name of the game isn't it).

My body is young and strong enough to handle one of the harsher, platinum based treatments, so I'm not quite sure why the doctors at Stanford are choosing this route.

Any help or advice about chemotherapy protocols

---------------------

-Surgery may be of use in managing involved neck nodes. It has absolutely no place in the treatment of the primary tumour.

-It all depends on the nature of the recurrence. A very small area of recurrence may be suitable for gamma knife, brachytherapy or IMRT.

But a recurrence which is involving the cranial beeves is almost certainly not curable, and some simple palliative treatment may be best.

I would certainly love to hear of a successful surgery for recurrent NPC, so please keep us informed
