Xeloda... new chemotherapy pill for advamced breast cancer
My mother has just gone on the new pill that was cleared by the FDA a week ago
called Xeloda (capecitabine). Her breast cancer is in the final stages and
this is our last hope but the drug is so new that we are unable monitor the
side effects well enough. She has experienced an inflamtion of the liver and
we are trying to determine if it is the cancer or the new pill. The doctors
have no idea because of their unexperienced use of this drug. If you are
taking this new drug I would love to talk to you and exchange information
regarding the treatment, progress and side effects. If you are taking this
drug or have any information regarding the drug please advice me?
---------------------
- Xeloda is a form of 5 -- FU. The information I've read to date
suggests one would see the same toxicities that are common with 5 -- FU,
particularly continuious ambulatory 5 -- FU if the Xeloda is
administered continuiously for one week or more. Please note that all contents of this message, including any advice,
