chemotherapy outpatient costs

Can anyone contact me regarding the costs of treating an outpatient with chemotherapy and ambulatory infusion? Anyone have any information on the costs of treatment to the patient, and the actual costs invovled, that they would be willing to share?

---------------------

-I had DCIS last year, with lumpectomy followed by 33 sessions of radiation. I have blue cross/blue shield insurance, which is probably pretty good.

Each radiation treatment was billed at around $700, and of that the insurance paid most, some was written off and my co-pay (out of pocket) was $70. I hit the upper limit of $2400 maximum out-of-pocket per person per year before the treatment ended, otherwise it would have cost me $70 x 33 treatments, plus the costs for the CT scans, & assorted other stuff...plus the weekly visit with the radiation oncologist.

I have no idea what chemo costs, but based on how expensive radiation is I expect it's also astronomical!

-My wife's chemo was about 30K a month with every week herceptin (4K) plus the carbo/taxol combo being most of it plus the weekly procrit shots plus the neulasta shot.

It of course was knocked down between Blue Cross and the Cancer Center to about half that, but still, a huge amount of USD

Each 3 week herceptin dose that she's now on is billed at about 12K.
