Breast cancer chemotherapy drugs alternatives

These are the exact options that I was given chemotherapy drugs... I chose to go CA even though it meant losing my hair... There is something about the Adriamycin that breast cancer just really hates... I also wasn't too thrilled about the side effects of CMF... My chances of infertility were greater with CMF than CA....

At the age of 25, that was my biggest concern...

---------------------

-Two oncologists have recommended different choices for chemo for my breast cancer (Stage 2a- negative nodes- estrogen receptor positive). One less strongly recommends chemo and if I were to choose to do it, to do AC. The other strongly recommends chemo but with CMF given soley by IV every 3 weeks for 6 months with no drugs in pill form at home in between. Both recommend tamoxifin. Any advice to consider in evaluating the options here? I would like to hear from women's personal experiences with these two chemo regimens even though I have read the pamphlets re all the possible sides effects of each type of chemo.

-I chose to do CMF because it produced the same results as far as the cancer returning according to my oncologist and because it was a by far gentler way of treatment even tho it took longer. When my oncologist said that it could do damage to the heart I immediately was repelled by the AC option. With CMF I haven't been sick at all. He gives me Decadron with the chemo. I've lost about 40 % of my hair which isn't bad. I have my last treatment Feb. 1st and I'm glad it's over but I'm glad I chose the gentler way to treat my cancer. I also had a 2 cm invasive into the breast and no node involvement, estrogen receptive tumor. I will do radiation after this with Tamoxifen for 5 years.
