antibacterial and antimicrobial chemotherapy websites, agents ...

I am a third year undergraduate and have an essay entitled "antibacterial and antimicrobial chemotherapy" to write. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good websites, agents or scientific papers. It has to be written with a fairly high chemistry content.

---------------------

-A good book to get is Greenwood/%2522Antimicrobial Chemotherapy%2522. I think research papers might be asking a bit too much as there isa hell of a lot of work done on the subject.Good journals to look at are AAC
(antimicrobial agents and chemotherapy)and JAC (Journal of...etc). The american society for microbiology website is a good source of info as well:

http://www.asmusa.org/

You can get 1998's papers full text for loads of relevent stuff.

-Since you have to concentrate on the chemistry aspect, I would pick a single class of antimicrobial agents rather than trying to broadly write about all the classes of antimicrobial agents. I would suggest that you concentrate on the fluoroquinolone class. David Hooper has an excellent book called Quinolone antimicrobial agents (ASM Press) and there are several good structure-activity relationship (SAR) reviews of this class (one in particular by Fernandes).
